Hi, I’m Jane T. Shuman, Editor-in-Chief of Ophthalmic Professional. We have been collecting your ideas on keeping healthy and reducing stress for our Wellness Series. I thought I would share mine. I have always enjoyed walking outdoors especially in the spring when the birds are chirping and the leaves and flowers are beginning to bloom. Before I began walking regularly, I would dread going to the gym after making excuses why not to go. Pairing up with a friend for a daily walk made me accountable to someone so the excuses for walking faded away.
My dog Ruthie always knows when it's 8:00 AM and is eager to join us. I have found this is a great way to clear my mind, energize my body and get my day off to a great start.
