Thanks for the feedback, please keep it coming!
Another anniversary for our community’s growing publication.
Bruce Maller, Co-Editor
When we started planning this magazine three years ago (my, how time flies), our main objective was to identify and fill the information void facing an under-served mainstay of the ophthalmic community: the staff. Our goal was to write about today’s important topics from a staff perspective and help individual staff members grow as professionals. Over time, we hoped that Ophthalmic Professional would become a vital part of every staff member’s “training path.”
As we complete our second year of publication, we are delighted with the results so far. A recent reader survey produced great feedback and hundreds of insightful comments. While we realize we can always improve our product — please note that we will never let complacency into our building — we were thrilled to find that you overwhelmingly like what you read.
As co-editors, Jane Shuman and I are particularly proud of the depth and breadth of the topics our talented writers tackle each issue. When we send each issue to press, we do so knowing that readers will find timely and practical information they can use the very next time they report to work. Just take a look at the valuable articles in this issue. From ICD-10 preparation plans and corneal topographer tips to a reassessment of the dreaded employee evaluation and an argument for bringing in physician’s assistants, this issue touches on just about every avenue of your professional lives. And, with our new My Back Page department, you even have a chance to sound off about life outside the office. (If you have an interesting hobby or passion outside of work that you’d like to write about contact william.kekevian@pentavisionmedia.com).
Please enjoy this remarkable lineup of articles with the understanding that everyone at Ophthalmic Professional will continue to work as hard as we can to fill each issue with the information you want—and need—to be the best health care professional possible. See you again in 60 days. OP
