Volk Pan Retinal Laser Lens with Contact Flange
■ A new-flanged contact element is the key feature to Volk Optical’s redesigned H-R Wide Field pan retinal lens. These new contacts prevent patients from squeezing the lens off the eye during diagnostic or laser work. The lens provides .50x magnification, with 2.0x laser spot magnification. It offers clear visualization of retinal tears or lesions and provides a pan retinal view not possible with a non-contact slit lamp. You can also obtain a view of the entire retina not provided by a mirrored lens.
Accutome Connect Ultrasound Package
■ The new diagnostic ultrasound platform, Connect, from Accutome is portable, interchangeable and upgradable, according to the company. It is designed to allow the user to run Accutome’s A-scan, S-scan and UBM on a laptop or PC, and is compatible with EMR systems, to which users can directly upload patient files.

Topcon EMR Portal
■ Topcon is expanding its support services by adding to its product line EMR software. In addition to EMR communication data, the software pairs with Topcon’s instrument line by providing specific information for each device including sample data.
The system will act as a single, online location for EMR vendors to download connectivity information for all of the company’s devices and software.

Diopsys CORDA software
■ Diopsys is aiming to improve the analysis of optical coherence tomography images. The company’s CORDA software uses existing images to help in the assessment of the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL). Analysis of RNFL thickness, the company says, is being overstated due to current OCT technology limitations. This software hones in on just the damaged structure.

Tech Optics Relief Tint Computer Clip-on Glasses
■ For patients experiencing eyestrain due to the amount of time they spend in front of a computer, computer clip-on reading glasses like Tech Optics’s “relief tint,” may help. They clip right on to prescription frames and offer a way to reduce the amount of high-energy visible light (violet and blue) to protect against computer vision syndrome. The glasses also feature UV protection, aspheric lenses, anti-reflective coating and are scratch resistant.
